Residential Peer Leader (RPL) Selection: 2009-2010
Thank you for your interest in the Residential Peer Leader (RPL) Position for the 2009-2010 academic year! The RPL position at Brown University is an exciting and rewarding experience. You will develop organizational skills, leadership opportunities, good communication with individuals & groups, and a sense of teamwork. This position will give you hands-on experience that will not only look great on your resume, but also enhance your understanding of the human experience. Please familiarize yourself with the RPL job descriptions (RC, WPC and CA) and take a few moments to talk with several (4 or 5) current RPLs about their experiences as and choice to become a part of the Residential Life team.
Who can apply:
In order to be selected as an RPL, you must be in good academic and judicial standing with the University. Also, RPL candidates who are selected to become RPLs are required to return early for the fall and spring semesters to complete Residential Life Staff Training.
How to apply:
Please complete the application form, answering all of the questions, and distribute the recommendation forms. At least one of your references should be a Brown University staff member, faculty member, or administrator. We also encourage references from current or past members of the student staff for Residential Life.
All application material (application form, answers to questions, recommendation forms) must be turned in on Tuesday February 3rd, Wednesday February 4th, or Thursday February 5th between 9am-5pm in Residential Life in North Wayland Arch. At this time you will sign up for an interview slot. The RPL interviews will take place between February 9-19th. The group process, which will determine specific staff placements will take place on Saturday March 7th and is mandatory for all applicants. For returning RPLs (just for current or past RCs, CAs, or WPCs):
Reapplication Form due Tuesday or Wednesday January 27 and 28th to Residential Life where you will sign up for an interview time.
Interviews will take place February 2-5th.
